 The 3rd Annual SchnelltemberFest is over and the evening was a HUGE success! We hosted 195 people and were able to raise nearly $6,600 that evening, bringing our total for 2010 to $17,792 and crushing our $10,000 goal! This will be enough to grant three more wishes of three very deserving kids!
The first of the three wishes has already been granted:
Five-year-old Gilberto was diagnosed with Acute Leukemia on June 12, 2007. His favorite color is blue and he loves all the Disney characters and movies. His wish is to go to Disney World in Florida. He would love to visit Magic Kingdom, Universal Studios, and a water park. He wishes to go in October of this year so he can participate in a trick-or-treating event and wear his Transformers Halloween costume! Gilberto also loves taking pictures and eating macaroni and cheese. He is a very outgoing little boy who is very happy and active. In his spare time he likes to watch movies, swim, play soccer, and ride on motorcycles. He loves action figures including Batman, Superman, Ironman, Ninja Turtles, Transformers, Toy Story, and Mickey Mouse. His favorite snack foods are Oreos and Goldfish and he loves chocolate!
We now have raised $41,045 in the last 3 years from a variety of events and have been able to touch the hearts of 7 well deserving kids!

You are cordially invited to the 3rd annual SchnelltemberFest for Make-A-Wish event on Saturday, September 25, 2010. This is an unbelieveable Oktoberfest themed event benefiting the Make A Wish Foundation of Illinois and we are hoping it will be just as successful as last year’s event which raised over $6,000. The 2010 goal is a lofty $10,000 but with your help and support, we can easily achieve that.
The Make A Wish Foundation’s mission is to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy, by granting the wishes of children living with life-threatening medical conditions. Over the course of their 20+ years of service, they have granted wished for more than 8,000 children across Illinois. The need for support from the community continues to increase as they identify more children who qualify for a wish.
My wife and I have been blessed to have four happy, and healthy, children. We pledged our time and support to those families who were not as blessed, but by our efforts are able to see the smile on their child when they are granted the one true wish they have in their lives, no matter what it is.
Your ticket price is all inclusive for the event which will feature great German food (homemade), a variety of beer, wine and soft drinks, a silent auction tent, chinese raffles and live entertainment from the Chris Buehrle Band!

 August 7th
Thank you to Sue Schroeder who coordinated a wine tasting event at Wine Knows in Grayslake, IL. Sue wanted to make sure that those in the WAY Northern suburbs were able to help out a great cause, Make-A-Wish. Sue had a lot of people to attend that were able to taste some great wines, eat a few appetizers and be able to generate $1,095 for SchnelltemberFest for Make-A-Wish. Thank you to Sue and all who attended!
 August 19th - 22nd
The Big Hitters were out in force again at the 14th Annual Big Hitters Golf Outing in Augusta, MI. A couple years ago, the 32 guys that attend the event decided that they could band together and do great things for Make-A-Wish. This year, they sold mulligans, *gimme* strings and collected various donations from some of the guys. Gull Lake Golf Club also gave a very generous donation to Make-A-Wish on behalf of the Big Hitters. All told, the event was able to bring in $2,767 from the weekend's festivities! Thank you guys!!
 September 12th
As Hank Williams sings - "Are you ready for some FOOTBALL?!" That's right, it is NFL opening day and Buffalo Wild WIngs on 75th Street in Naperville will donate 20% of all proceeds from those that bring in a copy of this webpage or the flyer (click the logo to the left for the flyer). What better way to kick off the football season but with friends, cold beer, chicken wings and helping out a great cause; Make-A-Wish! I look forward to seeing you there!
